2016 is finally over. With our first year of podcasting over and a catalogue full of pop-culture entertainment that we drank through this year, it's time for a little wrap up.

Cheers To The Rapture!

Cocktail Recipe

  • 1 ½ tablespoons of homemade Cranberry Rosemary Jam
  • 2 ounces of Gin
  • Dry Champagne floater
  • Rosemary Sprig for Garnish
  • In a tall cocktail glass, combine jam and gin with ice and stir until well combined. Strain into a champagne flute, fill with champagne to the top and garnish with rosemary. Enjoy!Cranberry Rosemary Jam Recipe
  • 12 ounce bag of fresh or unthawed frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • ½ cup of fresh squeezed orange juice
  • 4 whole sprigs of rosemary
  • 1 cup of water

Place all ingredients in a 2 quart saucepan and bring to a boil. Turn heat down and simmer for 20 minutes stirring occasionally. Once jam has thicken, pour through a fine mesh strainer to discard seeds and skins and refrigerate for at least an hour before eating. Mixture should continue to thicken as it cools.

Bothan's Blood

  • 2 ounces of silver tequila
  • 1 ounce of blue curaçao
  • 1 1/2 ounce of blueberry juice
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 to one full teaspoon of agave, depending on desired sweetness In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, curaçao, blueberry juice, egg white, and agave. Dry shake ingredients for a few seconds, and then shake again with ice. Strain over desired serving glass with fresh ice and enjoy!

NYT 1958 Eggnog Recipe


  • 12eggs, separated
  • 1cup granulated sugar
  • 1cup bourbon
  • 1cup Cognac
  • ½teaspoon salt
  • 3pints heavy cream
  • Grated nutmeg
  • 1 to 2cups milk (optional)


  1. In an electric mixer, beat the egg yolks with the sugar until thick.
  2. Slowly add the bourbon and Cognac while beating at slow speed. Chill for several hours.
  3. Add the salt to the egg whites. Beat until almost stiff.
  4. Whip the cream until stiff.
  5. Fold the whipped cream into the yolk mixture, then fold in the beaten egg whites. Chill 1 hour.
  6. When ready to serve, sprinkle the top with freshly grated nutmeg. Serve in punch cups with a spoon.
  7. If desired, add 1 to 2 cups of milk to the yolk mixture for a thinner eggnog.

This week is a big deal for Cait & Murda, because Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is finally out on Netflix. And you bet we powered through it over Thanksgiving weekend to give you our thoughts. The Amy Sherman-Palla-drink-o

  • 2 oz Vanilla Vodka
  • Shake of cinnamon or ¼ oz Frangelico
  • Coconut milk
  • 1 oz Kahlua
  • ½ oz simple syrup
  • 1 doughnut
  • Shake with ice and pour into large rimmed glass. Slice into doughnut bottom, so it can rest on top of the drink. Note:  Must eat doughnut side first before drinking.

Murda and Cait went to see the new Marvel movie Dr. Strange and loved it! Spoiler alerts everywhere and plenty of referencing other Marvel movie franchises and how they fold into this movie. Not to mention we have to discuss our sex pyramids. Again. Because it's a Marvel movie!

The Miso Strange

  • 2 oz Rye Whiskey
  • Radish slices (for garnish)
  • Cilantro muddled
  • 1 tsp miso paste
  • ½ oz honey
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • Top with soda water

Muddle cilantro and honey. Add whiskey, lime, honey, and miso. Shake with ice. Strain over crushed ice, then top with soda water. Garnish with radish slices.

Makes two drinks

  • 1/2 cup fresh-squeezed lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons of Kimchi
  • 2 sprigs of cilantro
  • 4 ounces silver tequila
  • ½ teaspoon of siracha
  • 2 ounces simple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of peanut butter - for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons of freshly chopped peanuts - for garnish


In the bottom of a cocktail shaker, muddle the kimchi and cilantro with the lime juice. Add the tequila and simple syrup, stir until well combined. Spread the peanut butter and chopped peanuts onto two separate plates, and then dip the top of each glass into the peanut butter and followed by the chopped peanuts, shaking off the excess peanut crumbs. Strain and pour the margarita mix into the two glasses filled with fresh ice. Enjoy this little piece of Josh and West Covina in your own home!
